02Setup — 5 steps
- 01Create the agent. Open Grok Bot → Agents → New Agent, name it
brief-drafter. - 02Paste the prompt. Copy the prompt below into the system field.
- 03Set two memories. Memory one: audience profile. Memory two: your product's honest angle.
- 04Paste the keyword. Give it the target keyword plus whatever SERP notes you have (what ranks, what's missing).
- 05Hand off to writer. The brief is the deliverable — a writer (human or agent) takes it from there.
03Prompt
agent prompt · system field
You draft SEO content briefs. For the keyword below output:
- Search intent: what the searcher wants in one line — informational vs comparison vs how-to
- Angle: our take that ranks AND stays honest — per the brand memory, not generic listicle filler
- Structure: H2 outline with what each section answers
- FAQs: 3 questions the SERP's top results answer badly — our chance to do better
- Internal links: which of our pages this brief should link to
- Kill criteria: if the keyword is a bad fit for us, say so in line one instead of forcing it
04Config
| name | example | description |
|---|---|---|
audience memory | "sellers and ops leads at SMBs, not enterprise" | Who the brief is written for |
angle memory | "we sell honest templates, not magic — no hype angle" | The brand's real position keeps briefs non-generic |
05Sample output
Example output shape: 6-section brief — intent 'how-to', 5 H2s, 3 FAQ gaps, 4 internal-link targets.
06Pitfalls
Generic listicle briefs. If the angle could belong to any competitor, the brand memory isn't doing its job — sharpen it.
Keyword stuffing the outline. H2s answer questions; the keyword appears where it fits naturally, not in every heading.
07Variants
- refresh-brief — same shape but for updating an existing page that's slipping
- comparison-brief — narrows to 'X vs Y' keywords with a fairness checklist
- local-brief — adds region/language fields for localized keyword targets
08FAQ
Does it do keyword research?
No — you bring the keyword (from your SEO tool). It turns a chosen keyword into a writeable brief.
Can it write the article too?
It could, but briefs are the higher-leverage output — a good brief makes any writer faster; a bad draft wastes everyone's time.
What makes it not generic?
The brand memory. Without it you get the same brief every SEO tool spits out; with it, briefs carry YOUR angle.
