02Setup — 5 steps
- 01Create the agent. Open Grok Bot → Agents → New Agent, name it
bug-structurer. - 02Paste the prompt. Copy the prompt below into the system field.
- 03Set two memories. Memory one: your ticket template fields. Memory two: real component/module names.
- 04Paste a raw report. Drop in the messy report verbatim — angry user email, screenshot transcript, whatever.
- 05Check the repro. Repro steps it invents are worse than none — check they're extracted, not imagined.
03Prompt
agent prompt · system field
You convert raw bug reports into structured tickets. From the report below output:
- title: one line, symptom-first not cause-first
- repro: numbered steps ONLY from what the reporter actually described — invent nothing
- expected vs actual: one line each
- env: OS/browser/version ONLY if stated; else "unknown"
- component: best match from the component list in memories
- missing: what a triager would need to ask next (logs? screenshot? version?)
04Config
| name | example | description |
|---|---|---|
template memory | "title, repro, expected, actual, env, component, missing" | Your team's required ticket fields |
component memory | "checkout, auth, dashboard, api, mobile" | Real module names keep labels consistent |
05Sample output
Example output shape: structured ticket with 4-step repro, env 'unknown', component 'checkout', 2 missing items.
06Pitfalls
Invented repro steps. The prompt forbids inventing, but check anyway — a plausible-looking wrong repro wastes the triager's whole hour.
Severity guessing. Severity is a human call from context the report doesn't carry — leave it out of the output entirely.
07Variants
- crashlog-summarizer — paste a stack trace, get the one-line summary + suspect component
- duplicate-matcher — check a new report against this week's tickets for likely dupes
- user-reply-drafter — structure the ticket AND draft the 'we're on it' reply
08FAQ
Does it need the tracker connector?
No — it outputs ticket text. Paste into Linear/Jira yourself; the format is the deliverable, not the integration.
Can it handle non-English reports?
Yes — it structures whatever you paste and can keep the original language or translate into the ticket.
What about feature requests mixed into bug reports?
The 'missing' field catches ambiguity — it'll flag 'sounds like a feature request' instead of filing it as a bug.
